We believe that by finding balance and becoming role models, we can empower our teens and tweens to develop healthier relationships with technology—and with us.

Why I Started Unplugged Tribe

Hi! I’m Carrie, founder of Unplugged Tribe and mum to a teen. Like many parents, I’ve wrestled with the challenges of raising a tween and teen in a world saturated with screens. It’s not just about the tech—parenting this age already comes with its own set of hurdles. The digital world just complicates things.

I’ve made mistakes, like letting screens fill gaps that might have been better served with real connection. I’ve faced the panic of discovering secret social media accounts, the frustration of FOMO-fueled drama, and the realisation that I needed to change my own screen habits to be a better role model.

Unplugged Tribe grew out of my desire to share those lessons, to create a space where parents don’t have to feel judged for their struggles but can find practical tools, real-life stories, and a supportive network.
